Abigail is growing up so fast! She learned how to roll over this week. Now she can’t get enough of rolling onto her belly from her back. As soon as she is laid down over she goes!
I discovered that she had learned to roll over when I went into her room after she woke up screaming from a nap. I found her on her belly and mad as a hornet. I was thrilled she’d finally gotten herself all the way over and her arms out from underneath of her. I wanted to see this new trick for myself. I tried to get her to roll over for me during playtime on the floor (see photos below) but she wouldn’t do it. She got hungry so I fed her and she fell asleep. I laid her down in her Pack-n-Play and she woke up. I had to step out of the room a moment and when I came back she was on her belly. The little sneak! I rolled her onto her back and said, “I want to see you do it.” Over she went!
While it’s wonderful she can roll over from her back to her belly, she needs to learn how to go back the other way so she doesn’t get so mad when she’s stuck on her belly!
Abby is sitting up in her Bumbo chair now. She loves it! I was trying to catch a full on smile and this is pretty close.
Everything goes in the mouth. She is more “mouthy” than Gavin was. Every toy gets explored by her little gums. I’m guessing her gummy smile won’t be strictly gummy for much longer.
Here she’s yelling. I’m guessing that were it in a language I understood it would be something along the lines of, “Mama, put down that darn camera and give me some toys!”
Her little hands and feet are still so small but they are much bigger than they once were. She has a little boo-boo on her pinky toe from where she kicked the wipes box.
Her little wiggles and giggles are so cute!
Brandon brought the exersaucer up from the basement this morning. I had thought that Abby seemed to want more entertainment and excitement and maybe we should get it out. I’m fairly certain we didn’t get the exersaucer out for Gavin before six months. I dismissed the thought from my mind for now thinking we needed to wait. Apparently B and I were on a similar wavelength, he said this morning that he wanted to try something new with her. He went and brought the exersaucer up and we put her in it. Boy was she ready!
She had so much fun exploring all of the toys.
Big brother showed her the ropes. I think he was having as much fun as she was!
I thought there was no way she was tall enough to touch the bottom. I was clearly wrong.
“Look at me! Look what I can do!”
I’m glad we have found something else to entertain her with because sitting in her bouncer while we prepare a meal or play with Gavin is just not cutting it. She does not like to sit still and is very eager to explore.
I’m amazed at how much she has grown in four months. I’m even more shocked at how different she is from Gavin. It seems silly because it only makes sense that because they are two different people, they would be completely different. But seeing their different personalities is very exciting.
