We’ve been sick. For
weeks. There has been some never ending
cycle of illness in our house for nearly a month now. At least one of us has been down with some
sort of gastrointestinal illness, ear infection, croup, fever, virus, cold etc
constantly. Not much has been
accomplished around here. We’ve been
taking care of the basics but we’re a bit behind with everything else. So, if you’ve been expecting a blog, a note,
a phone call, or anything else from us, we just haven’t had time. Either we’ve been nursing ill children back
to health or trying to get well ourselves while still taking care of
children. It’s been exhausting and I
hope it ends soon. The house has been
cleaned repeatedly. Clorox wipes and
hand washing are our dear friends to no avail.
For some reason every time we leave the house we manage to pick up
something else. Icky.
Not much picture taking has been going on lately for the
aforementioned reason. However, we did
take some pictures on Valentine’s Day and when the little sickies were caught
doing something cute.
Abby recently learned how to climb into her toy box. I remember Gavin doing this too. In fact, I remember finding Gavin in his toy
box with his legs sticking straight up in the air one time. Thankfully these shenanigans kept the two of
them busy long enough for me to get some dinner on the table.
For about a week we worked on Gavin’s valentines for school
after dinner. He wrote a couple of them
each night. He’s developed more of an
interest in writing and cheered when he was able to write a difficult letter
correctly. We’re going to continue
practicing and mastering all of the lower case letters as well. Letters and numbers are a struggling point
for Gavin so we need to practice the next several months before kindergarten.
Gavin made a bag at school to collect valentines from his
classmates in. He said he had a great
day at school doing the valentine exchange.
Big brother and little sister got together for a picture on
Valentine’s Day!
Gavin got a new Lego set, Abby got a Lego Duplo set, and
they each got some candy.
Daddy bought the little daddy’s girl some flowers.
And he bought some flowers for me too!
Gavin and daddy have been playing Lego Star Wars on
Wii. Gav is still trying to figure it
all out but he has fun working playing.
Along with his new interest in Legos he has also become interested in
Star Wars. He came home from school
talking about Star Wars one day and hasn’t stopped talking about it since.
We registered Gavin for kindergarten this week. He goes for his assessment in May. I am looking forward to this next chapter and
he seems excited about it too.
Abby has been a wild child.
Gavin did not have the terrible twos, it seems the threes and fours have
been more challenging with him. Abby on
the other hand will probably uphold the terrible twos moniker. She’s into everything and is constantly
making mischief. When she is displeased
she dissolves into a screaming fit on the floor. To say life is challenging is an
understatement.
Hopefully we’ll be back to full wellness soon and blogs will
pick up again. With the track record we’ve
had, no promises. I wish everyone
wellness and warm sunny weather!
