Gavin and I put up Halloween decorations last week and we
furthered our fall spirit this week. I
don’t have the kids bake with me much, unlike when Gavin was younger, because
between the two of them wanting to do everything it turns into more of a battle
than a fun baking experience.
Abby was so excited to help make cookies. “Make cookies! Make
cookies!”
Gavin wanted to do everything Abby was doing. I told him he could do some of the “harder”
jobs.
I used the hand mixer to get most of the mixing
completed. Then I had each of the kids
mix with the spatula.
Use those muscles Gavin!
While the cookies were baking the kids did some Halloween
crafts.
Abby loves to paint.
Both of them did a great job. When the sun catchers were completely dry we
added them to our Halloween décor.
The kids also colored wind chimes.
The pumpkin is hanging on the back door. I have no idea what Abby did with her
witch. I am guessing that she put it in
one of her numerous bags that she carries around all day.
Daddy had taken the day off and we enjoyed our cool, rainy fall day at home. We had Pioneer Woman’s delicious spicy Dr. Pepper
shredded pork for dinner. It was a
wonderful day!
