Hocking Hills Part 2:

Old Man’s Cave Upper Falls

On day two we visited Old Man’s Cave and Rock House. We spent a considerable amount of time at Old Man’s Cave because there are several things to see there.

This is Devil’s Bathtub which legend states goes down to Hades. Reality is that it is several feet deep and climbing out is virtually impossible.

The only way out is down. Although the drop isn’t all that far considering some of the other falls, I imagine it would be somewhat painful.

Old Man’s Cave was a busy place on Saturday. We had a hard time pulling off shots without people in them. It was impossible to do here at the actual recess cave.

The bridge here is at the Lower Falls of Old Man’s Cave.

The goal was to take one of our self portraits with the falls in the background. We tried a few times but the only one that had the falls in it also had some random person standing there too.

The rock and the new Spring green were such beautiful sights.

Our last stop was Rock House. Rock House is an actual cave and the only actual cave in the park.

Rock House is located on the face of a cliff. Rambunctious Boy Scout troops and daring teenage boys make being on the face of a cliff all the more daunting.

We walked through some beautiful scenery on our way to and from Rock House.

Hocking Hills is a beautiful area and we look forward to taking the kids there sometime. I highly recommend a visit just to stroll around.
