It's the Holiday Season...

And we're keeping even more busy than usual!   With shopping and preparing for Holiday guests there's lots to do in the next few weeks!  In addition, I switch to new days off after the new year and Brandon and I won't have any days off in common anymore so we're trying to do some fun stuff like the basketball game a couple weeks ago and the hockey game this Friday.  As a side note, the days off weren't my choice.  Someone stole my days off from me and the only days off left on second shift were the highly coveted Monday/Tuesday.  Since I need to stay on seconds for the time being, here we are.

Anyway, here are some of the latest photos of the Gavster!

I was making camarones en mojo de ajo the other day and Gavin decided to help.  He brought over his step stool and peered over the counter into the sink.  He discovered the shrimp.  When I told him it was time to remove the tails he picked up a shrimp and ripped the tail right off.  No demonstration needed.  Granted, he didn't do it quite as cleanly, taking some of the meat with the tail but he did his best.

He lives to be a big helper!

We put up the tree the other day.  Gavin got right to helping put on ornaments.  As one can imagine, several ornaments were clustered in one spot.  He couldn't wait to get to the "ball" ornaments.  I don't know what it was about those glass ball ornaments but he was so excited to get them out of the ornament box.

Mommy's turn to put on an ornament.

Daddy's turn to put on an ornament.

We put a train around the tree this year.  Nana brought it to us last Christmas.  Gavin loves this train!  He can't get enough of it.  He is fascinated with turning it on and watching it go.

These furballs have taken up residence under the tree.  It's annoying as there's cat hair all over the tree skirt.  What is it with cats and Christmas trees?  The funniest part about this picture is their eyes!  I tried to repair their glowing eyes using the photo editing software on Flickr.  Clearly it didn't work out well.  Now they have black dots for eyes and glowing rings around the black dots.  I considered just posting the picture with their glowing eyes but found this much more entertaining.

These two are so darn cute.  It seems anytime they do a household project together an adorable picture comes out of it.  Brandon was working on hanging the picture and Gavin couldn't get enough of the tape measure.  He went over to the wall where Brandon was working and started "helping."  I love my boys!

Until next time, and no promises on when the next post will be, there's much to be done!

p.s. Spellcheck still hasn't been brought back on this site so I proofread about 10 times but I have no doubts that I miss errors from time to time.  Sorry!
