Hockey, Cookies, and a Box.

Gavin loves containers.  Tupperware, boxes, anything he can put stuff in and push around the house.  His diaper box is no exception.  He insisted he have this box to play with.  The first thing he wanted to do, get inside of it and go for a ride.  So, mommy pushed him around the house for a few minutes.  Did you know that Pampers boxes don't slide well on vinyl floors?  I learned that the hard way so we stuck to carpet.

On Friday, December 11, we took Gavin to the OSU v. Miami (OH) Hockey game.  Bucks lost.  Badly.  0-6.  We had fun anyway.

A kids hockey league from Dayton played for a bit during one of the breaks.  I think Brutus was a bit distraught at how they were playing.

Gavin was less than interested in smiling.
"Mom, why are you bothering me?  I'm trying to watch hockey here."

Today we made some Christmas cookies.  Gav loves to help me cook.  He especially likes when we make sweets and he gets to eat them afterward.  Here he is getting things all prepared.  Please excuse the fact I didn't focus well on this one.

There's no photo of the mixing of the dough but I do have a story.  Last time we used the mixer he turned it on by himself.  He was very gentle and only turned it on the lowest setting.  As the mother of a two year old, I should have known that just because a child does something perfectly once does not mean they will do it the same way the next time.  I gave him the okay to turn on the mixer and POOF!  Powdered sugar all over!  The mixer went from zero to Mach 8.  I said, "Gavin, you made a mess!"  He said quite firmly, "I DID NOT!"  Then we had a little chuckle, cleaned up, and I operated the mixer the rest of the time.

We soon moved on to rolling out and decorating the cookies.  I thought Gavin would really like the part where he got to put the red hots on the cookies and do his on decorating.  What Gavin really liked was putting the red hots in his mouth.

Cheese!!!!  (With a mouth full of red hots.)

Enjoying a yummy cookie! (With a hovering Lab in the background.)

Until next time...
