Gavin had his first soccer game on March 31. We aren’t entirely sure that he gets it yet
but he has fun running around, just not always toward the ball. It turned out to be a rather chilly Saturday
for Gavin’s first game.
Team practice takes place before each game.
Strategy time. Is
there much strategy in the U5 league?
Maybe it’s a pep talk!
Gavin looks so cute in his soccer uniform with his cleats
and shin guards.
The brother/sister love seems to be more evident
recently. They definitely still fight
but it seems like they’ve been playing better together as they grow.
Gavin had his second game last Saturday. It was warmer and sunny that day. This time Abby stayed home with our
babysitter. She didn’t want to stay off
the field the week before and it is much easier to watch Gavin play without chasing
a two year old around.
Go Blue Dinosaurs!
The week before the team talked about their team name. Gavin suggested Blue Dinosaurs and the rest
of the kids liked it so that’s what they decided to call themselves.
He picked out the number 30 at their first practice the
Thursday before their first game. The
coach got their names put on the back.
It seems like he’s staying closer to the other kids and near
the ball during this game.
I’m hoping that with time he’ll start to understand the game
better. He is having fun and is excited about
playing.
I have had to work so I haven’t been able to see him play yet. Last week when I got home the first thing he
said to me was something about how great his soccer game was that
afternoon. He was beaming. I am looking forward to seeing him play on
April 21.
