Mom, Julianne, and I went to visit Pioneer Woman, Ree
Drummond, again! She came back to one of
the local Barnes and Noble stores after the recent release of her new
cookbook. While it was nice to get our
books signed and see PW again, it was quite a long wait and also a bit
frustrating. This of course was not the
fault of PW herself. This particular
Barnes and Noble location is small compared to a couple other locations locally
that are much larger. The staff was not
particularly helpful or communicative either.
The most irritating thing, besides getting in line shortly after five
and not getting to PW until eight, was that PW gave a presentation at the
beginning that a large group of us did not get to see because the store
staff made us line up well before six.
It was so tiresome in fact that although she is my favorite blogger that
I’ve been following for roughly five years, I’d have to seriously consider
whether I’d go back to a signing again.
In spite of the great BN Debacle of 2012, we had a good time on this
rare occasion that the three of us were able to go out together.
The girls with Pioneer Woman.
Marlboro Man, PW’s husband, made an appearance too. Her three younger children were traveling
with them as well but one of them was sick so they stayed at the hotel.
You can find PW’s blog post about her time in our fair city
here.
I look forward to trying out some of the delicious recipes
in the new cookbook soon!
