We headed over to the ball glove section. There are so many different kinds, I didn’t even realize. On the end cap we located the gloves for

There were two gloves that were about Gavin’s size. One of them came with a training ball that has a soft core so he could get used to catching a ball the size of a real baseball without getting hit with a really hard baseball. Not to mention, Gavin isn’t always accurate with where he throws the ball so we don’t want to get smacked with a rogue ball.

He was so excited about getting his first glove. He’d been asking for one for a couple of weeks. Finally the day had arrived!

No more posing for pictures! When he’s done, that’s it. There’s no hope of getting a good one.

While Brandon went to look at something else Gavin found the kayaks. One happened to be on the ground so he climbed right in. He informed me it was a girls kayak but I told him he could get in anyway.
Gavin is also a recent swim class graduate. We just wrapped up two back to back sessions of swim lessons. I took a couple of pictures of him after we got home. I wanted to take pictures at lessons but I didn’t want any parents freaking out that I was taking pictures at the pool

Gavin received this certificate for his participation. They also hand out lollipops as a treat on the last day. Lollipops are quite a treat because he doesn’t get them often.

Gavin also received his Guppy patch. He’s a two time Guppy now. He’ll be at least a three time Guppy because he’s still in level 1. Gavin has definitely improved since his first session of swim lessons a month ago but he still has a few areas he needs to be strong in before they will move him on to level 2. I think part of this is just him needing to mature a little and become a better listener. After we get into the swing of preschool we’ll probably sign him up for another round of lessons. Recently he has been asking when he can go to swimming again so at least I know he enjoyed it.
Abby is still chewing away furiously on anything she can get her hands on. If we put something near her mouth she’s inclined to grab it and try to chew on it. I know it’s partly the phase she is in but she may be working on teeth too. Unfortunately there are no bumps or any signs that indicate imminent arrival of a tooth. This means she’ll be working for quite a while to get a tooth to come in.
I’ll get some more photos of Abby posted soon. I have been feeling bad about not having as many pictures of her on here as there are of Gavin. Gavin is at an age where he does so much that there’s lots of things to share. Abby is getting to a point where she is starting to do more and reach milestones so expect to see more and more of her. We’ve also been making sure to take photos of her doing whatever it is she’s doing while we’re taking pictures of Gavin’s events.
Hope everyone had a great weekend!
