So here's a little update:
No new pictures right now. We haven't taken too many in the last few days.
September is a really rough month for us. Brandon and I have crazy work schedules. I actually have training which is something I've managed to dodge since Gavin was born and I came back to work. I'm a little excited though because I get to go to Chicago for a conference. Our CAD (computer aided dispatch) team is going. I've never been to Chicago so hopefully it will be a good time. Brandon is busy with SRT on football Saturdays and his SRT training that he has during the month. It seems like more often than not this month we need sitters, it's crazy!!!
Gavin is WALKING!!! For anyone who didn't already know, the little guy is toddling around all over the place. He is so adorable. I can post videos up here so hopefully I can get a little video of him walking posted. He's gotten quite good at walking around rather quickly. He's taken to climbing lately. He climbs on top of the Rubbermaid container we keep his toys in. From there he'll try to climb onto something else. He climbed on the couch last night and up onto the rocking chair today. I see bumps and bruises in his future. He knows how to climb the stairs but we are still working on how to get down the stairs. He's learned how to get off the couch without taking a header thanks to B's teaching him how to slide off the couch on his belly. He just gets more active and seems smarter every day!!!
Mocha is her usual crazy self. She's calmed from her puppy hyperactivity but she's still excitable. She's had lots of playdates with her friend Sam recently so she's been happy.
The cats are...cats. They do their own thing and of course get into trouble by jumping on furniture or counters when we aren't around. Stormy bats Mocha's snout around and Jax runs and hides when he sees Mo coming. Usually you'll find Stormy lounging on the ledge above the stairs and Jax hanging out in the spare bedroom.
We have some home projects we'd like to get done. Or maybe, I'd like to get some projects done. :) I would like to get the lattice on the deck, the deck re-stained, the shutters painted, trim painted, new light fixtures outside, new house numbers put up, and maybe the fence re-stained before Winter. We recently had our heating and cooling replaced with energy efficient systems (the a/c died). We will probably be in need of a water heater in the near future. Our house is 11 years old so things are starting to see the end of their service life. It's been more than clear that the people who lived there before us didn't care for anything. We've learned some lessons from this home buying experience and will know better in the future.
I guess that's it for the Y family right now. Hope all is well in your neck of the woods.
