The morning before I left for Chicago, we had a big yummy breakfast. Gavin got to eat pancakes for the first time. I put a smidgen of syrup on them as a treat! He ate it right up!
Shortly after I left Grandpa arrived! He came to spend some time with Gavin and B! He brought Gavin this alphabet train station and brought B some NY pizza.
Sitting with Grandpa. Gavin LOVES balloons! Seriously, not one balloon will get past him. Every balloon he sees, he points to it and says, "boon!" or something like it.
Meanwhile, our drive went something like you see above. Long and really really nasty. Roads were flooded everywhere and every route we tried to take north was closed. It was a tricky situation but Mr. Garmin helped us out!
Monday night we went downtown to Sears Tower. I was the most public transportation savvy person in our group and we managed to get downtown on the train and back to our hotel with no problems!
Amy and I on Navy Pier. We went to Navy Pier on Tuesday night. We not only took the train, we took the bus from the train station to the Pier! Woo hoo! No problems there either. It was so nice not having to drive. I wish that Columbus had better public transport.
We rode the ferris wheel and Swings on Navy Pier. Well, Carolyn and I rode the swings, all three of us rode the ferris wheel. I guess since no one was really around the operators let us ride the swings longer than I would consider a normal ride. I definitely wanted off the swings long before the put us down. It was fun but I've found as I've gotten older, and especially since having Gavin, that these things are more scary than thrilling.
And there you have it! A new blog! I hope you enjoyed the photos and I hope to post again soon. Be sure to stop back!
