How Far We've Come

I went back through the blog to see which photo was the last I posted of the house. I left off with the floor joists laid for the first floor. Wait until you see how far we've come!

Three days after the photo of the floor joists we had a good portion of the first floor framed.

A day later and the first floor is up.

There's a gap in the photos, probably because they are on the camera and all of these were taken on my phone. Five days after the above picture we had:

You probably don't realize it but in this photo we are missing a window. Remember the controversial window from the last post? The window is supposed to be second floor towards the front of the house. Turns out production received the change order after the wood had been cut so it had to be framed in on site. Why they put it up as is instead of framing it while they worked I have no idea.

This side of the house does have the proper window that we added while making all of our option selections.

Not all of the house wrap was secured and the roof wasn't yet complete when we were expecting a front with some high wind. I was so worried about what would happen to the house but thankfully there were no issues.

Now we have another of those pesky time gaps where I don't have the photos uploaded yet but this is after they tacked down the rest of the house wrap, added the windows and exterior doors, built up the two elevations on the roof and put on the shingles.

One morning I stopped by after dropping Gav off at school and they were pouring the garage floor and the front stoop.

A week later and we could tell that HVAC had been run inside and the electrical was being run.

This is the back of our house looking from the cul de sac and through someone else's backyard.

That's where we stand for now. We spoke with the project manager on another matter and he said the drywall should be getting dropped off this week and we may have our pre-drywall meeting at the end of the week.

The electrician did put the floodlight in the wrong location on the back of the house. The project manager told us that the excuse the electrician gave was that he didn't look at the plans and just put it wherever he has in other houses. It raises some concerns about the other electrical additions/changes we made. We'll be going through the house with a fine tooth comb this week.

Have a great week!
