Gavin had his Christmas play at school last week. He played a shepherd and was absolutely adorable.
Here he is with his little sheep.
None of the kids wanted to speak. Mrs. Long just took care of the telling of the store and went right along when the kids wouldn’t say their parts. Afterwards I was talking to his teachers and they said the kids were rather stressed about the play this year. Normally each child gets a speaking part but this year they didn’t burden them with it.
The kids lined up to sing a song after the play. Gav didn’t really sing, not many of them did. He was fed up with his costume by the time the play was over so he removed his head piece.
The kids made cupcakes during school last week so they could decorate them during the Christmas party. Gav put icing on his cupcake and selected sprinkles and a candle to put on top.
There was a craft where Gavin made baby Jesus out of a clothespin and made him a manger to sleep in.
Grandma Y was visiting and came to Gav’s Christmas party too!
Gav with mommy, daddy, and his sheep.
Gavin made us a beautiful plate for Christmas. He also made an ornament and decorated the wrapping paper.
The teachers gave the kids a book. Gav loves books!
As previously mentioned, Grandma Y was in town visiting for the holidays. We had our Christmas with her last weekend.
Both of the kids got lots of clothes. They definitely needed them! Kids grow so fast! This time Gavin said, “Clothes for me!” instead of just tossing them behind him like he did on his birthday.
Gavin helped Abby with her presents too. Abby was most interested in the paper and was quite pleased to be playing with it rather than paying attention to anything we were doing.
Grandma bought Gavin the movie Despicable Me which Gavin calls Despicable Beans. We aren’t sure where he got beans from but it’s cute.
Abby now has her very own pink dump truck!
Gavin wanted a remote control crane pretty badly. He’s played with it every day for long periods of time since he got it. Abby has even tried her hand at using it.
He likes attaching whatever will fit onto the hook and raising it up in the air.
Gavin and Abby enjoyed spending time with Grandma, as did the rest of us!
We spent a large portion of the day making cookies. Gavin was helping with the gingerbread men.
Not only did he help cut them out, he helped to eat them too.
He’s eaten lots of cookies recently. This week we had a play date with one of his friends and we decorated sugar cookies. As soon as he had icing and décor on the first one it went right to his mouth!
Merry Christmas Eve to everyone! We’ll be back with a Christmas post soon!
