Wrapping up 2010!

Finally, by popular demand, a new blog is here! I tried to put a new one up a few times last week but every time I got all set up I just couldn’t write. I wasn’t awake yet. I’ve barely been able to get together an e-mail let alone a blog post. I’m on day shift now and my brain doesn’t go into function mode until the day is about half over. Anyway, on to the final photos from Christmas…

Shortly after Grandma Y left, Grandpa Y and Aunt Ashley arrived!

Lots of delicious cooking went on during the visit. Gavin helped to prepare the vegetables for the pea soup. He consumed plenty of the vegetables during prep.

On Christmas Eve everyone went to the earlier family service. The later candlelight services started about bed time for the kids. It was decided this wouldn’t be a good idea considering how long last year’s service went. Unfortunately, I was at work serving the fine citizens of the Emerald City.

Being the family service, the kids had the opportunity to participate. Gavin was a Sheppard again. He’d had some practice in his preschool play.

What cute little siblings! We realized well after the fact that we never took a family picture on Christmas. Not a single one. Bummer.

Gavin and Abby set out carrots for the reindeer and cookies and milk for Santa.

Gavin was so excited on Christmas morning! Unfortunately he was made to eat breakfast first before opening presents and had to wait until his sister woke up. This year we need to revamp the plan. It was just too much for the little guy and certainly not very fair. Of course, this year I’m on first shift and can’t get the day off so we’ll be doing gifts before I leave for work in some crazy fashion so he won’t have to wait for anything. Problem solved.

…and it was clothes! Ha!

Much better!

Abby actually tried to open her presents. A tough task for a nine month old but she gave it a shot.

She seemed to have a great time opening gifts and checking out all her stuff.

We know Gavin had a fun! He was tired by the end and couldn’t wait to open up all his new stuff.

The adults had a great time too but I know everyone is here to see the little kids…not the big kids opening presents.

On December 26 we had Christmas at Grammy and Poppy’s house.  The food was delish!

A great picture of Poppy with the kids. Next year I need to vow to take more group pictures. We don’t have many from this year.

I think that covers the highlights from our Christmas. I hope everyone had a great Christmas. Now it’s on to the New Year with new pictures. I look forward to posting some fresh stuff…hopefully soon!

In other news, Abby took one step in the living room on January 7. We’ll have a walker before we know it. Gavin is taking swimming lessons again. The difference six months makes is amazing. He’s doing very well and we are incredibly proud. Brandon bought me some photography classes for my birthday so I’m doing that on Tuesdays. I’m having a great time and look forward to learning more. Brandon is working away. He’s taking advantage of us both being on days the next two months by working a lot of overtime while he can. We are busy for sure!
