Our Travels to NY

Here it is, the post of our trip to NY.  We took over 300 pictures so I had to really pick and choose what to add.  Blogspot has recently changed the way you add photos to the site and I now have to add them one at a time.  It's a painfully slow process and I may be searching for a new blog host before too long.  If I change blog locations, have no fear, you will be notified.  With that, let's begin:

Friday:

Brandon and I took Gavin to the firehouse so he could climb on the trucks.  He had a great time.  It's funny that the tires on the truck are taller than he is!

One of the guys, Curtis, gave Gavin a Junior FF hat.

We had lunch at Hacienda, a Mexican restaurant in Goshen, with Aunt Ashley and Grandma.

Gavin learned how to play a little guitar with his cousin Deanna.  He called the pick a 'leaf' for some reason.  He learned and was able to recall the parts of the guitar.

Back: Cousin Deanna, Me, Brandon, Cousin Joey.  Front: Dan (Deanna's boyfriend), Grandma, Gavin, Otto (the dog), and Dan (Grandma's boyfriend).

Gav playing guitar with Uncle Robert.  The pictures got out of whack here after I uploaded all of them.  Now I can't move this one back up with the other guitar picture.  Another great perk of some of the revamping that's been done on blogspot.

Gavin helped himself to dessert.  He loves cookies and this Halloween cookie was irresistable.

Saturday:

Gav at the train station with Grandpa.  We were waiting on the train to take into NYC.  It was a chilly morning with the breeze but turned into a beautiful day!

Gavin in his own seat on the train next to Grandpa.

Gav in front of the T-Rex at the Museum of Natural History in NYC.  He loved the dinosaur bones!

Gavin and Aunt Ashley next to the Triceratops.

Gavin wasn't interested in cooperating for the photo.

There were tons of lifelike dioramas at the museum!

"Who is this pushing my stroller?"  Why, that's Catherine!  Catherine is a friend that Brandon and Ashley grew up with.  Catherine moved to Milford, where I grew up, and we went to the same high school for a while.  Strange how things like that happen!

The fam outside of the museum and in front of Central Park.

Gavin and B outside of the toy store, FAO Schwarz.  Gavin had fun looking at all the toys.  Grandpa got him a bulldozer!  He loves his bulldozers!  He calls them scoops.

By the end of our day in NYC, I put him in the stroller at the train station and he zonked right out.  Little guy couldn't keep his eyes open one more minute.  He needed this nap though because we were on our way to a yummy pizza place!

Snoozing with daddy on the train.  I miss how he used to do this all the time when he was a baby.

After eating lots of delicious pizza, Gavin got to open some presents from Grandpa and Lillian.

The hit of the evening, a Home Depot weed whacker!  He has a toy that is a flower and spins if you push the button.  It's one of those things that had candy in it (which we removed so he couldn't eat it).  He picked it up at a checkout in Toys R Us and called it a weed whacker.  Now, he has a real toy weed whacker and doesn't have to pretend with his little spinning flower anymore!

Great Grandma Y, Gavin, and Aunt Sue.

Grandpa, Gavin, and Lillian.

Sunday:

On Sunday, Brandon and I went to Kristen and Christopher's wedding with the rest of the family.  Gavin stayed at Grandma's with Deanna.

One of our traditional self-portraits.  We started taking self-portraits early on when we didn't have anyone else around to take our picture.  Now we still do it even when other people are around to take our picture.

Monday:

Gavin sitting in his car seat for the long drive home.  Could they shorten PA by 200 miles or so?  Good grief that's a long drive.

The pictures from the car don't do the beautiful fall foliage justice.  While PA is a pain to drive through, there were some beautiful sights!

The End.

Please excuse spelling errors.  While I do proofread, the spell check feature of Blogspot has been removed.  Fantastic.  Now off I go to search for new blog hosting!
