Brandon took a couple of quick pictures of the gates after the fence staining was finished. Here's how they turned out. They look stunning! The stain is a match to the old color. We think it's a bit darker but it looks great with our new outdoor light fixtures and freshly painted house numbers.
And finally, our lovely newly stained deck. No more patches of worn away stain. No more dog scratches. No more permanent dirt marks. All for now anyway.
We didn't realize at the time we bought the house what a pain solid stain would be. The weathering and any scratches or chips are quite obvious. Our deck matches our house wonderfully however it's so light that the slightest bit of dirt shows up. I don't imagine any other color would look quite right considering the color of the house but had the prior owner stained it a natural color we may have been better off. Oh well, we have what we have and it all looks great now. The fence stain bucket says it has an eight year warranty! I sure hope so because our fence is huge and it was quite pricey to get stained!
Note: I finally found that little tiny piece of HTML text I had to modify to fix how the horizontal pictures displayed on here. Now the problem is resolved and pictures should no longer appear cut off.
