The absence of posts on the blog isn’t just a bummer for you
but it also weights heavily on my mind. It’s
always there… “You need to post a blog…you need to post a blog…you are slacking
this year!!!” I promise myself, and you,
that I’ll get better. But then, real
life intervenes; my apologies. Just know
I am doing my best and things are CRAZY right now.
I think the best thing to do is sum up June. What the heck sucked up all the time?
#1 T-ball. Gav has T-ball twice a week. Thankfully this Saturday and next Monday are the last two games of the season.
Gavin seems to enjoy T-ball.
They play so slow it feels like the games go on forever.
Abby is always there supporting him as she has with every
activity he does that she gets to sit and watch.
#2 The end of the school year. Gavin was ready for his last day of
kindergarten.
We’re off on our last morning walk to the bus stop for this
school year.
There goes Gavin on his last bus ride of kindergarten year.
When we walked back home the fashionista wanted to do a
photo shoot.
I giggle when I take these photos because I think, sure you
think you’re hot stuff now girly but you just wait until you’re about 16 and I
pull these photos out!
The monster look suits her.
The kids learned a tremendous amount in kindergarten. However, the art of putting on a gown needs
work.
Each student had a letter of the alphabet and a reading part
to correspond with the letter.
Our little graduate!!!
Each student received an award. Gavin received the Almond Joy Award for the
friend who is always in a good mood.
From what his teacher said during conferences I don’t dispute this to be
the case at school. As for his mood at
home, well…he wouldn’t be receiving the Almond Joy Award.
Abby sat with her buddy, Mrs. Clark.
Daddy had training this particular week but he was able to
get away to attend graduation.
My boys!
Shout out to the Storchs of CA!
Grammy came to graduation too!
Gavin’s last picture with his first elementary school teacher.
The class had a party outside after graduation. Gavin enjoyed the potato sack races.
#3 T-ball. Did I
mention T-ball?
#4 Abby started dance early in June. She does a little ballet, a little tap, and
some gymnastics in each class.
Cell phone photo but it shows Abby in her element. She has no fear.
#5 A birthday! Gavin
wanted to celebrate his sixth birthday at Magic Mountain. We told him he could invite a few of his
friends from his class.
Pizza and cupcakes were a hit!
The kids enjoyed minigolf.
It was a beautiful day outside.
They also enjoyed plenty of arcade games.
The following day was Gavin’s actual birthday. He was eager to open his gifts. It was afternoon by this point but the kids
had showers because Gavin had a T-ball game in the morning. They put on their pajamas after their
showers. And no, Mocha did not get a dye
job. We were dog sitting our friend’s
dog.
Abby was so excited that she received some little sister
gifts from us and grandparents.
Gavin’s big gift was a Nintendo 3DS. He got some awesome games too. Thankfully this kept him quite busy on the
drive to and from Florida.
We had dinner at Quaker Steak and Lube followed by dessert
at Coldstone Creamery.
#6 We went on a great vacation. You’ll have to wait on that post because
there are plenty of pictures I need to sort through.
Between all of those big things we had the regular stuff
too. We are working hard to get Abby finished with potty training so she can start preschool in the fall. We've been dealing with a bit of insomnia with her and it's not pleasant. Any volunteers to deal with the not wanting to go to bed and the 4am wake-ups that lead to screaming until about 6am?
And, since we don’t have enough
irons in the fire we are entertaining the thought of taking advantage
of the interest rates before they jump and look at moving into a larger
house. We’re going to be busy and I’ll
do my best to keep you posted.
I hope everyone had a great 4th!
