As I mentioned, there was some mod monkey madness. Well, maybe not the madness part but it worked for the “m” thing I had going on and the mod part is the actual party theme name from birthdayexpress.com. The website didn’t sell a cute “Happy birthday” banner for the mod monkey birthday theme. Instead, I scanned the monkey off of the invitation and made my own banner for the party!
Everything was prepped and ready to go so eating could commence as soon as guests arrived. Abby was eager to get started. As you can see here, she’s eating cheese, one of her favorite foods. She’s also disassembled her sandwich which is just how she rolls. She’ll tear apart anything and eat it from the inside out. Very strange.
Aunt J made this beautiful décor for the party that has now found its way into Abby’s room and girly-ed it up.
After lunch the kids ran around the back yard. Did I mention it was sunny and nearly 80 degrees? The same time last year I recall we were all in pants and long sleeved shirts. We were lucky to have such beautiful weather and an opportunity for guests to enjoy the deck.
What little lady wouldn’t want to go down the slide in her party dress?
Abby was very excited to start opening her gifts. It’s so fun to sit back and watch when kids are old enough to open their own gifts.
How cute is Abby with her party dress and jewels from her dress up box!?
Of course Gavin received some big brother gifts too!
Abby’s cake turned out beautifully! The bakery did a fantastic job and I was stunned when I saw how they decorated it. I took them the monkey and told them the colors and the bakery ran with it.
Happy birthday Abby!
Abby loves cake!
Abby had a great birthday party and we had a wonderful time with our guests! Thank you to everyone! Hopefully I’ll get thank you notes out shortly.
*****
Sky Zone is a big trampoline park with a few different trampoline courts.
The orange padding denotes a line which the little ones and the big kids should not cross in order to keep them separated and safe. I’m not sure if Miss Abby had more fun jumping or trying to cross the line as many times as possible while flirting with the “line enforcer.”
Little Busy had a great time showing off.
Big brother was worn out by the time we left. We only bought thirty minutes of time and it’s a good thing because they couldn’t have handled much more than that.
We saved a few gifts for Abby’s actual birthday.
Of course the big brother received a couple more gifts too.
We cut Abby a piece of cake and put her candle in it.
I asked her to smile and she closed her eyes. Am I speaking English?
Of course she cooperates when daddy asks her to smile. She’s such a daddy’s girl.
This is probably one of the cutest pictures we’ve been able to get of the siblings lately.
We had a great celebratory weekend! Thanks to all those who joined us and we missed those who couldn’t!
Have a great week!
