a BIG update!

Yes I am aware that you've all been waiting for an update for over a month now. But I assure you this post is worth the wait. Below you'll see a picture of the upcoming addition to our family. This was from August 14 at 8 weeks 3 days so the little bean is much bigger by now at 13 weeks 3 days. The head is on the right, body obviously left, and tiny arms and legs are also visible.

We just had an appointment on Wednesday 9/13 and were able to hear the heartbeat and everything is going great. We have an appointment on 10/30 for another ultrasound and we'll find out then if it's a girl or boy. Hopefully I'll have some more blogs up between now and then! Anyway, cut me a little slack, it's been three months of pretty much all day sickness.

Gavin is hoping for a sister but yesterday he said he thinks he's getting a brother but wants a sister. I guess we'll see.

Now for some Gavin updates:

Grandma Y came to visit in August. She and Gav built this awesome fort using all of his Mega Blocks. He's got A LOT of Mega Blocks so that's saying something!!!
We went out to a new Mexican place in the mall near our house. Gavin was quite intrigued by the guacamole. This was also when he learned how to say the word "guacamole" which is just hilarious to hear from a 2 year old!
He was not the least bit interested in his chicken enchiladas. He wanted chips and salsa. This salsa had some kick to it. I guess I shouldn't be surprised, he likes Frank's Red Hot too.

Here's the little drummer boy playing the drums to the Guitar Hero video game. We almost couldn't get him away from it. Whenever he sees this somewhere he has to stop and play.

Gav and his Grandma.

We are working on drinking out of a big boy cup without spilling. He does pretty well but he needs a little more practice. He says he's drinking coffee when he drinks out of a cup that has a handle like a mug.

Gav in his pool for probably the last time this season unless it stays warm like it has been. He loves the water!

Gav likes filling up the water table himself. He calls this "Hose Man" when he gets to use the hose to spray water. He's gotten to do that several times between our house and Grammy and Poppy's (as seen below).

Hungry fella helped himself to a snack when the basement door with his rack o' snacks was left open. I believe he was watching some cartoons which he is incredibly addicted to. One of his favorites: Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.
