Pour yourself two cups of coffee because in wrapping up 2012
and all that’s happened in the last week and a half, you’re going to be here
reading for a while.
December 21, 2012
Gavin went out to play in the snow for the first time this
season. Turns out this wouldn’t be the
last time he played out in the snow the last 11 days. We’ve already had more snow than we did total
last winter.
He threw snow at everything from the dog to the windows.
December 22, 2012
The next day Abby got in on the snow fun.
“This is so much fun!”
Time for some sledding on our “hill.” Maybe it’s more of a slope.
Snow angels!
How cute is that little snow angel!?
December 23, 2012
Aunt Ashley came to visit for Christmas. We made sugar cookies and decorated them
after dinner one night.
By decorate, I mean eat.
December 24, 2012 – Christmas Eve
On Christmas Eve we went to the family church service at
4:30. It’s a more interactive service
geared towards the kids. Gavin was a
sheep in the Nativity.
Abby was an angel.
She didn’t want to let go of Kimber’s hand. For some reason she started sticking her
bottom lip out and pouting. Then she
turned on the water works and came back to sit with us.
We took a few photos after service before we changed into
our pajamas at home. Here we have one of
the rare moments that the kids are showing love to each other instead of
torturing each other.
After dinner we set out Santa’s cookies and the carrots for
the reindeer.
We bid Shiny Armor and Sparkles goodbye.
And we read The Night
Before Christmas. Everyone Most of us snuggled
down in their beds for a long winter’s nap awaiting the morning to see what
Santa brought.
December 25, 2012 – Christmas Day
This little guy was heard up and around at 3am. Ashley heard him pointing to gifts saying who
each one was for. He showed up in our
room two hours later dressed for the day and teeth brushed. He was crushed when we sent him back to
bed. Brandon tucked him back in and
found that there were books all over his bed and it appeared Gavin hadn’t slept
much.
Gavin and Abby were so excited to get started opening
presents.
We let the kids go to it.
It was much more fun to watch them tear open gifts instead
of trying to hold them back to let each open a gift together.
Abby loves her cash register!
Gavin loves the True Heroes military toys. He’s having tons of fun with his Navy Seal
Boat.
In the afternoon on Christmas day, we went to mom and dad’s
for dinner. We took a bunch of family
pictures. I needed some updated ones so
that I can update frames at home.
We had a wonderful Christmas and enjoyed our time spent with
family.
December 27, 2012
Dad was promoted to Staff Lieutenant on Thursday. Definitely a well deserved promotion.
Mom pinned on his new badge.
We took several pictures after the ceremony.
Gavin wanted to see the range at the academy so badly. He enjoyed watching the cadets for a bit. Should Gavin ever take up law enforcement as his career of choice like he says he wants to, this picture will be pretty cute to pull out when he's in training.
December 29, 2012 – More snow!
Gavin and Abby have enjoyed the snow. Abby didn’t get to play in snow at all last
year and Gavin went out once. We’re
finally having the winter we should have had last year.
They built a little snowman with daddy. He’s named Frosty.
I believe this is Abby belting out “Frosty the Snowman.”
December 31, 2012
Brandon got home from work just in time for a little
champagne and to see the New Year. I’m
fortunate to have stayed awake although I was less than perky.
Happy 2013 everyone (Toshiba included, on our Samsung
TV. Hehe!)
